Puerto Rico is again the honor guest country of the Festival del Caribe (Caribbean Festival) that will be held during July 3-9 in Santiago de Cuba. This event, also known as Fiesta del Fuego (The Fire Fest) is organized and summoned by the Ministry of Culture, the Provincial Board of Culture and the Casa del Caribe.
To this date, about 600 artists from 26 countries have confirmed their participation. The largest delegations will be those from the United States, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico and Puerto Rico, the latter with more than 150 participants, among which will be the bomba and plena band Majestad Negra, Andy Montañez, Tony Mapeyé and Puerto Rican bands Patria y Cultura, Plena Combativa, Bombazo Dance Co., Taller Tambuyé y Las Atípicas.
