The International Theater Institute, better known by its acronym, ITI, since its inception has aimed to represent performing arts worldwide, say dance and theater, and legitimize its artists and doers. To this end, it has created a network of ITI centers in each of the countries affiliated to the organization: centers that, in turn, represent their theatrical communities in the forums, congresses and spaces for legitimation that the ITI promotes throughout the world.
Among the strategies that the ITI has developed to promote dance and theater on a global scale, and to bring everyone its message, has been the annual celebration of the Dance Day. Every year the ITI organizes a gala to celebrate this day, where the message is read in the voice of the artist who wrote it. On this occasion, the ITI has asked our Centro Cubano (Cuban Center) and the Consejo de las Artes Escénicas de Cuba (Performing Arts Council of Cuba) to organize this world gala to launch the message of the year, a great honor that we have assumed immediately.
For a country like Cuba, with such an important dance tradition, to be entrusted with not only organizing the gala for the Day of Dance, but also the one celebrating the 70th anniversary of the ITI, is a tremendous privilege.
