British Raymond Howard Davies, a racer and veteran from World War I, manufactured sports bikes, won the mythical TT in 1925 with one of them and set a speed record. The brand of his motorbikes and the first logotype were the initials of his name: HRD. He sold his factory to Philip Vincent, who baptized them as HRD Vincent and that became his logo. Vincent produced legendarymotorcycles and his logo only read Vincent when he entered the American market, including Cuba. Philip Vincent stopped manufacturing motorbikes in 1955. A Vincent is presently worth $329 000.
