Haptic in Automobiles
Haptic can be described as the study of the behavior of touch and sensations; the science of touch, an analogy between acoustics (hearing) andoptics (sight). The term comes from Greek háptō (sense of touch, relating to the touch).
The haptic technology is gaining momentum in the motor world. By using the sense of touch, alert signals are sent to the drivers as vibrations, including the touch screens on the dashboard. Haptic accelerator, safety belt and wheel are some of the examples of this technology aimed at increasing the safety measure featured by the vehicles. An important element is the haptic dashboard proposed by Bosch during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), recently heldin Las Vegas.
