- A hive of values and arts in Cuba
«Art is the pretext to infect us with human values», says Carlos Cremata, founder and director of the Cuban children's theater company La Colmenita (The Little Bee Hive,) which has become an educational reference in many parts of the world.
Faced with the artistic project within which a cluster of children-actors declaim and sing songs live, the members of the audience feel like they were in a cloud where everything is possible, especially the wonderful. The Cockroach Martina, The Cinderella according to The Beatles, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, two versions of Elpidio Valdés -one with music by Los Van Van and the other with compositions by Adalberto Álvarez y su Son- Y sin embargo se mueve and Meñique are some of the most widespread productions.
Of the offspring of the company, he cannot choose one because he considers everyone as his own children. After that of Cantabria´s, there were two more replicas of La Colmenita in Spain itself, three in Mexico, one in English in Canada, a few in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, six in Argentina, twenty-nine in nine states of Venezuela. However, none of the experiences has reached the strength that a hive movement is currently unleashed in El Salvador by the very president of the Republic, Salvador Sánchez Cerén.
