For our generation, those of us who were born in the sixties of the last century, Salvador Wood is a myth, a face that has accompanied us in the happiest moments of our childhood and youth. He was an actor that made us better persons with his famous interpretations.
For this reason, I was thrilled when Editorial José Martí put in my hands, with its edition, the book Salvador Wood, una vida llena de recuerdos (Salvador Wood: a life chock-full of memories,) by Rolando Álvarez Estévez and Marta Guzmán Pascual.
Upon reading the book over and over again, I could establish not only the human dimension of this excellent actor. In the many conversations with Rolando and Marta, the authors of the book, they revealed to me many edges of the integrity of this man. Salvador will turn, on November 24, ninety years of a fruitful life. He has managed to convey to his family -which he forged along with his inseparable Yolanda Pujols and his children Yolanda and Patricio- the values that he defends as an artist.
