Ethno-Mixology Contest.

Held in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, the fourth edition of the Excelencias’ International Gastronomy Seminar came to an end on a pledge to take it to Panama quite soon.

Attended by boldface names from that destination, featuring the CANIRAC Deputy President (Jalisco), the Chief of the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac, the chairman of COPARMEX (Businesspeople Chamber), the organizers, the press and a number of sponsors, the two-day seminar was wrapped up with flying colors.

This time around, two of the planet’s major sommeliers attended the event. One came from the Old World –Spain’s Javier Gila, who by the end of the seminar was tapped President of the Madrid Sommelier- and the other from the New World – Yamir Pelegrino. Some of the most celebrated and influential chefs, such as Spanish-born Pablo San Roman –he owns D.O., one of the finest restaurants in Mexico City-and Paulino Cruz, a well-known TV host in Mexico.
