City lights colour Panama nightlife.
Night falls over Panama City
There are places to dance the night away.

To the daytime offers at Panama City, nightlife moxie is added at it does attract visitors. Movies, shows, theaters, discos, bars, restaurants, casinos… call for lovers of city life, who visit them confident in the peace they can find around those places.

The lights of the casinos, the night walks, cafés, restaurants, discos, karaoke bars, movie theaters, fairs, theaters, the “chivas parranderas” with their colored lights and music, they all make Panama a city with a glamorous nightlife. The fun is there. You just have to go looking for it with the easiness of walking down a safe city.

The discos, bars and restaurants are all grouped in known avenues, one of which is Uruguay Street. Almost everybody drives their way there, park wherever they can and the rest is just about walking from one place to another, depending on what their preferences are.

There are places to dance the night away and others to drink. In some places, there are live bands, while others have a room atmosphere with a little peace. The premises may be open for a while, may close or come back with a new look and, of course, this is a reason to attract more and more people and keep competition alive.

Restaurants offering different types of food welcome guests for diner in a very pleasant environment and well-defined themes in their decorations. Suddenly, and almost without noticing it, they take us to the Middle East, the Caribbean or anywhere else around the world. Uruguay Street is a place always in a fashion mood.

Panama is all about night parties, and another area for that is Paseo de Amador, or the Causeway. Now there are restaurants, ice cream parlors, fruit stores and shops throughout the Causeway, and at night many locals and foreigners like to walk, jog, skate or ride bikes along this strip of land. Bars and discos were moved into a new plaza in the middle of the Causeway and more recently there emerged Zona Viva or Lively Zone, behind the Figali Convention Center, where quite always there are huge concerts with the world’s more famous performers.

Indeed, it is the new hotspot for partying. A boulevard with more than 20 discos and room for many more. Then there are the bars, which usually have a steady clientele and people go there basically because of their laidback atmosphere. But fun and rumba move all over the city through the “Chivas Parranderas”, disco-ready buses that move around the city at a very, very slow pace, but with contagious music blaring out. Some of them are luxurious; others aren’t so, but they never go unnoticed.

There are other choices that have nothing to do with parties, but they do delight those who like them. There are excellent performances at theaters. Modern movie theaters run varied programs for all ages, while those who love the fine arts will enjoy exhibits by the hand of gallery experts.

There is always something to do all week around, but today is kind of taking a slow burn, so the best that you can do is go to a casino, where there is always something going on; and there are casinos galore in the city.

If you want to know Panama, there is much to discover, both day and night, and to enjoy your travel experience intensely. All you have to do is choose a place to spend the night away in a partying atmosphere full of charms, and a good atmosphere every step of the way.
