A Meeting for the Advance of the Sector
A program that surprised attendees for the topics and the quality of the exhibitors coming from different parts of the world was the distinctive element of this three-day event that featured lectures, tasting sessions and shows amid a fusion of cuisine, marketing, technology and tourism that targeted information sharing and training.
The event unfolded with a turnout of boldface names from that destination: Nayarit State Tourism Undersecretary Norma Fernandez; Nayarit Hotel Association Chairman Fernando Gonzalez; Miguel Andres Hernandez, President of the Puerto Vallarta Hotel Trust and Association; Coparmex President Mago Ortiz, and Luis Zuñiga, Director General of the Univa University, plus sponsors and members of the press. There’s no doubt that one of the most acclaimed personalities were chefs Patricia Quintana –recently appointed as Mexican Cuisine Ambassadress to the World–, and Betty Vazquez, ranked among the top 60 chefs on the planet. Their master lectures were a genuine feast for the attendees who had a firsthand opportunity to listen to these two women’s incredible wisdom and experience in the gastronomy sector and took a closer look at their great human values. Under the title Gastronomy and Marketing: A Review of the Latest Trends; Building a Successful Business, an array of trendy topics were put on the table, always from a basically practical standpoint and in a bid to come up with solutions for travel industry professionals. Among the keynote lectures within the program, the one dictated by Fernando Abreu, from the CTO New York Chapter, was entitled Marketing and Strategy to Build a Successful Destination. Another lecture entitled Gastronomy and New Technologies: How to Get More and Better Customers was delivered by Spain’s Valentin Hernandez of Guidance For his part, Cuba’s Yamir Peregrino brought up Wine Course and Tastings, while Mr. Antonio Barroeta, representing the Mexican Mixology Academy, talked about Mixology: Nitromixology Ethno Fusion and Spain’s Rafael Muela spoke on Tasting of Extra Virgin Oil In this third edition, all companies linked to this industry constantly seek to reap better outcomes, so the training of their staffs guarantees the right image they are looking for and bridges the gap with their clienteles. The seminar managed to weave effective networking among sponsors, exhibitors and attendees by building new ties and fostering fresh business within the industry. The closing ceremony was held at the Insu restaurant, of the Marival Residence Hotel in Riviera Nayarit, where participants reveled in a spectacular end and received their attendance certificates.
