A Major Business Gathering
The Fair, slated for Jan. 18-22, 2012 in Madrid, will beef up those initiatives designed to cut through new business opportunities for all attendees, let alone serve more than never before as the most efficient tool the travel industry can rely on. Amid a number of initiatives, the event intends to boost up the second edition of the FITUR Workshop, in which professionals from around the globe will be holding B2B meetings with exhibitors through the International Buyers Program. For better adjustment to the participants’ best interests, the exhibitors will choose what buyers must attend the fair, a move that clinches interest in the powwows and therefore raises the business potentials of the appointments. Business-to-business meetings will also be a key tool in INVESTOUR Africa, coming around for its third edition in 2012 and featuring pre-appointed gatherings between Spanish investors and high-ranking representatives of the African travel industry, from both the public and private sectors. Thanks to the excellent results reaped by African tourism with this initiative, INVESTOUR America will open its premiere edition to forge contacts between representatives of travel projects and initiatives hailing from that world region and potential business partners, though this time around targeting any exhibitor from any of the 166 destinations or region attending the fair. FITUR 2012 will also host a Brokerage Event that will seek to open up new possibilities to find business and technological partners in Europe, share experiences with other companies worldwide and generate new options for the marketing of tourism-oriented products, services and technologies.
Building Potentials on Promising Areas FITUR wants its 2012 edition to underscore LGBT as one of the top business segments in the industry by enhancing its presence through a massive turnout of companies or destinations specialized in this kind of customer. In this respect, more attention will be paid to professionals interested in reaching out to this niche. Sustainability of tourist establishments will get plenty of heed during the third edition of FITUR GREEN, an event also organized by UNWTO with a view to bring travel industry professionals closer to last-generation solutions and to the companies that provide them in an effort to implement an environment-friendlier tourism model. And determined to highlight the major role played by technology, next year’s FITUR GREEN edition will feature the Hotel Technological Institute (ITH is the Spanish acronym) that will offer all its experience in this field for the sake of the industry’s sustainability. Within the framework of FITUR and for a second year in a row, the National Congress on Enterprise Travel Management –planned by the Asociación Ibérica de Gestores de Viajes de Empresa (IBTA)- will allow main travel managers attending the meeting to get in contact with offers in display.
