THE FRENCH BRANDSHOWED THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ITS PEUGEOT 2008

DKR, SINCE IT CONVINCINGLY WON THE RECENTLY-FINISHED DAKAR 2016.

NONETHELESS, DON’T EXPECT TOO MUCH, BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THIS

DESERT MONSTER COMES FROM THE STREET VERSION, IT HAS NOTHING TO

DO WITH IT. BESIDES, IF YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT BUYING ONE OF THEM,

BAD NEWS, IT’S NOT FOR SALE.

The new 2008 DKR looks like the 2015 version,

but the modifications can be easily noticed:

the running boards have been reduced, the

vehicle has become more stable with a lower

center of gravity, it grew up 200 mm both in length

and width, and the weight has been distributed

among the axles. The key improvement in the

engine was the modification of the motor scheme,

which provides more power in a widest range of

revolutions. The transmission goes 4x2 to the rear

wheel assembly. As for the body, it was built with

carbon fiber on a tubular chassis. The engine is

nestled in the rear central position.
