World Travel Trends and Innovations

The event will showcase latest travel trends and technologies, and underscore Spain’s ever-growing role as an outbound travel market.

FITUR SALUD and FITUR SHOPPING will be some of the innovations of the 35th edition of the International Tourism Fair in Madrid planned by IFEMA and slated for Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, 2015. This time around, attendees will take a closer look at the latest trends and technologies in tourism at a time when Spain is playing an increasingly bigger role as an outbound travel market worldwide.
Spanish outbound travel spending jumped 15.4 percent in the first four months of 2014 as it peaked 2.172 billion euros, quite higher than inbound travel spending that climbed 4.4 percent in that same period. This evolution puts a new spin on the fair’s allure and opportunity to reel in travelers given the massive turnout of countries.
Both FITUR SALUD and FITUR SHOPPING will show a travel industry keen on development and growth, thus catering to a demand for further specialization and diversification spearheaded by the local tourism sector.
FITUR SALUD, jointly driven by the Spaincares cluster, will be perfectly partitioned within an exhibition space that will harbor all participating companies, including a vast selection of domestic and international host buyers invited to attend this event.
For its part, FITUR SHOPPING –organized in collaboration with Madrid Shopping Tour- will help companies signing up for this section to max out their investment returns. The exhibition space will accommodate a program session on that topic and will make room for personalized one-on-one appointments with national and foreign host buyers.
This fair –one of the largest in the world and a leading event for both inbound and outbound markets in Hispanic America- will provide the perfect setting for efficient business within the travel industry, a place where professionals could come up with the keys to successfully facing the challenge of tourism management innovation.
