«RESERVA DEL MILENIO»

A specialty launched in Havana on the eve of the coming of the new millennium. A selection of three lovely humidified mugs containing a bundle of 25 cigars from the Cohiba, Montecristo and Cuaba brands. The selected sizes handpicked for this occasion were Piramides from Cohiba, Robustos from Montecristo and Distinguidos from Cuaba, a trio that didn't belong to those brands' portfolios.

LAUNCH OF SAN CRISTOBAL DE LA HABANA

To celebrate the 480th anniversary of Havana's foundation and to mark the Iberian-American Summit, the new San Cristobal de la Habana brand hit the stands with an initial size portfolio that paid tribute to the city's most emblematic fortresses: EL Morro (49 x 180mm), La Fuerza (50 x 141mm), El Principe (42 x 110mm) and La Punta (52 x 140mm). Seven years later in 2004, three new sizes from the Calles series engrossed the brand, an exclusive line for the Habano Houses: Muralla (54 x 180mm), Oficios (43 x 135mm) and Mercaderes (48 x 167mm).

LAUNCH OF THE RESERVE CONCEPT

The Reserve is just another Habano offering. Partagas Series D No. 4 (2005) and Montecristo No. 4 Reserve (2007) were the first ever to join that exclusive concept. They are very exclusive and limited productions in which the blend of wrapper, filler and binder is the result of thorough handpicked tobacco leaves from the finest plantations in Pinar del Rio. Those leaves are aged for at least three years in an effort to come up with unique taste and aroma. The Reserves stand out among Habanos for their luxurious presentations in black-and-silver cases.

LAUNCH OF THE LIMITED EDTIONS CONCEPT FOR HABANOS

In late 2000, Habanos S.A. unveiled a new specialty concept: the Limited Editions. Designed to reach out to those smokers who know and distinguish the aroma, taste and strength of these blends –made with wrapper, filler and binder tobacco leaves thoroughly chosen and aged for at least a couple of years. The 8th edition of the Habano Festival in 2006 was the perfect framework to celebrate the fifth birthday of Limited Editions with the relaunch of its three most successful brands worldwide: Cohiba Piramides, Partagas Series D No. 3 and Montecristo Robusto. In 2008, other Limited Editions hit the market: Cuaba Piramides (52 x 156 mm), Montecristo Sublimes (54 x 164 mm) and Partagas Series D No. 5 (50 x 110 mm).

With a worldwide launch still remembered by many, this is no doubt one of the most coveted cigar sizes of reference of all Habanos.

ENHANCEMENT OF THE TRINIDAD BRAND

On February 1998, the Fundadores de Trinidad cigar size was unveiled. Based on its popularity –linked to gifts presented by Cuba's Council of State to dignitaries and personalities, let alone its superb reputation- three new sizes saw the light of day in 2004: Robustos Extra, Coloniales and Reyes, that helped put the brand on a much wider map.

PARTAGAS SERIES P No.2

Among Habano brands, Partagas is the strongest and most famous of all. However, its rank and file of admirers has grown steadily over the past one hundred years. Series P No. 2 (52x 156mm) of Partagas joined the brand's portfolio in 2005. The 7th Habano Festival became its launching pad onto the market in a bid to meet the preferences of its most faithful consumers.
