Large crop patch lands in rural areas have been an important source of agricultural production and supply for centuries, either for domestic consumption or for supply on a larger scale in different sectors. However, although its importance is recognized, it is not the only alternative that guarantees on our table the variety of fruits, vegetables and legumes needed to maintain a balanced diet, rich in nutrients.
Vegetables and aromatic plants, such as thyme, basil and cherry tomatoes, can be successfully grown if we create a home garden, whether on rooftops, terraces, patios or even balconies. In this way we would always have fresh and widely used products on hand in the kitchen, without having to buy them from different establishments and guaranteeing options for self-consumption.
