DAY 1 HAVANA
City tour with visits to the Historic Center of Old Havana, World Heritage. Visits to Havana squares: Cathedral Square, Arms Square, St. Francis of Assisi Square and the Old Square. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon visit –riding on old cars- to the Capitol, the Central Park, the Fraternity Park and the Revolution Square. Return to the hotel (by the tour operator).
DAY 2 HAVANA – LAS TERRAZAS – HAVANA
Departure to Las Terrazas, an ecological project in Sierra de del Rosario, declared Biosphere reserve by UNESCO, to feast eyes on Cuban flora and wildlife, and the breathtaking beauty of the scenery. Visit to La Moka Hotel, a peculiar lodging nestled in the woods. Visit to La Hacienda farmhouse and its lovely tropical garden. Hike to the partially-refurbished ruins of the Buenavista coffee plantation and farmhouse, dating back to the 19th century, for a chance to learn about the local history and the way coffee used to be grown back in those days. Contact with the local community, visit to the town’s square and the surrounding sociocultural facilities, let alone the chance to sip at a cup of good Cuban coffee at the Casa de Maria (not included). Visit to the local serigraphy workshop to learn about its community efforts and the advance of the local handicraft business. Visitors have the opportunity to buy items and keepsakes. Lunch at a local bistro and, if you’d like to, a chance to take a swim in the San Juan River. Return to the hotel in Havana (by the tour operator).
DAY 3 HAVANA – GUAMA – TRINIDAD
Departure to Guama, a replica of an ancient Taino hamlet, located in the Zapata Peninsula, in the Matanzas province. Interesting facts about the crocodile breeding grounds right on the premises and boat ride to the Taino hamlet plus a grand tour of the location. Lunch at a local restaurant and departure to the city of Trinidad. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.
DAY 4 TRINIDAD
Breakfast. City tour around Trinidad, the city trapped in a time warp. Visit to the Main Square and Romantic Museum, the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Canchanchara Bar and its traditional welcome cocktail, and the pottery workshop. Lunch at a local restaurant. Spare time to loaf around the city. Return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Night off.
DAY 5 TRINIDAD – C IENFUEGOS – VARADERO and/or HAVANA
Breakfast. Departure to Varadero. On the way, tour around the city of Cienfuegos, known as the Southern Pearl. City tour down the streets and avenues built by the French. It’s perched on a breathtaking bay, home to Cuba’s largest coral formation known as Notre Dame. Visit to the Marti Park, the Tomas Terry Theater, the Casa de Bienes Culturales and Cathedral of the Blessed Conception. Lunch at a local restaurant. The trip goes on to Varadero or Havana, depending on the hotel booked by the customers (by the tour operator).
