2017’s been a strong year for the Russian outbound market so far. Official figures show that the first six months saw almost a third more Russian tourists heading abroad compared to the same period in 2016 – the first time in almost four years.
That’s not all – they’re spending more too. After a 40% rise in Russian spending abroad in 2016, the trend is continuing. This year, spending power has been growing at between 33 - 46% each month compared to last year.
Why? The stabilisation of the rouble has led to more spending power – as well as deferred demand from those who had waited for economic conditions to improve. Now, the time has come for Russians to holiday, and they’re doing it en masse.
So, how can you benefit from this rising tourist group with more cash in their pockets? Let the Russian market know you’re here.
Each year, 23,000 travel industry professionals gather in Moscow at MITT, Russia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition, to source new destinations for their clients. Visitors include representatives of tour operators, travel agents, search and booking systems, hotels and accommodation, and corporate customers – the very people influencing where Russians travel.
With its extensive market reach, MITT is the best route to presenting your organisation and establishing partnerships on this promising market. With preparations for MITT 2018 well underway, why not find out how you can attract more Russian tourists..
