Vodka Classics
Vodka stems from Russia and is obtained from potatoes or grains, with wheat and barley being the most commonly-used ingredients in its preparation. To make it is not used any flavoring substance, so it is a drink without flavor. It is also colorless and does not require aging, so it can be bottled as soon as it is finished.
In addition to Russia, vodkas are made in Poland, Czechoslovakia and some Balkan countries, as well as in France, Spain and the United States, where it is in great demand.
In Russia, vodka is called not only the compound of ethanol and water, but also many fruit liqueurs and cereal-flavored distillates, which makes it a very generic name. Worldwide, there are famous cocktails prepared with vodka as a basic drink, among them, Bloody Mary, Vodka Martini, Screw Driver, Caipiroska, White Russian and Black Russian.
