The recent presence in our country of his Royal Highnesses Prince Charles of Wales and Camila Parker, Duchess of Cornwall, revealed for such distinguished guests those essences of our identity that generate a breath of fascination. Among the varied and multiple activities of the royal couple in Cuba, perhaps the one that took place in front of Havana´s park at 17th and 6th streets, in El Vedado, is the one that could best exemplify our arguments. The encounter of the owners of the various models of cars and motorcycles of British make that have ridden along our streets and avenues for decades was natural. Neither was it manufactured for this occasion the eight-year existence of the “Yellow Submarine” Cultural Center. And even much less could it be considered a pretense the statue of John Lennon, the work of artist Villa Soberón that names the aforementioned park in which it is located.
