Mulheres emergentes (Emerging Women) was born in the late eighties in Belo Horizonte, a city in southeastern Brazil: a mural that illustrated the female poetics on a poster, with publications that brought together writers already known and others to be revealed.
The director of Mulheres emergente is Tânia Diniz, an editor, teacher, poet and speaker. She says that this publication emerged with an international focus, emphasizing the feminine and the sensual in art, bringing together new authors along with those already known: national or foreign, alive or not, with the publication of texts and illustrations. In addition to the mural, the publisher promoted seven international poetry competitions. In a time without Internet, without social networks, and even so it reached more than 1,600 registrations and 200 illustrations from all over the country, America, Europe and Africa in the early nineties.
