London Art Fair gives us the opportunity to discover exceptional Modern and Contemporary Art. We find historical pieces and striking new talents. However, what the organization does not clarify is that the term Art on this occasion is restricted to painting and sculpture, excluding the rest of Contemporary Art, which is resigned to a narrow corridor, a corner or oblivion.
LAF19 exposes a traditional market that fails to represent contemporary artistic trends, underlining a seemingly irreducible space between economy and Art. The performances in this space are shows designed to entertain the visitor, the lost tourist, the student of Fine Arts... It is not that other forms of Art are underestimated, but that their coexistence is not possible with the materialism of a fair.
