Bandit and his PONTIAC FIREBIRD
Just one movie would have been enough for the fans of the motor world to remember Burt Reynolds forever: Smoky and the Bandit. It was filmed more than forty years ago, and when it came out in 1977 it was the second biggest box-office hit of the year, surpassed only by Star Wars.
Burt Leon Milo Reynolds, like other Hollywood actors, was a car lover, and although he had a reputation as a womanizer because of his movie roles, in real life he had more cars than wives. His automobile of greatest lineage was the black 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am that he used for his character of Bandit.
Burt Reynolds´s fame had its peak during the first half of the eighties, when films like The Cannonball Run came out, in which two attractive women drive a devilish Lamborghini.
