- Aretha Franklin and the automobile
Willy Hierro Allen
The american artist Aretha Franklin, well known as the Queen of Soul, grew up and developed her artistic skills as a singer in Motor City, as the city of Detroit was called. That is why its relationship with car culture was permanent, especially with the Big Three: General Motors, Ford and Chrysler.
When the supremacy of the American automobile was surpassed by the production of other countries such as Japan, Germany and finally China, the Queen of the Soul was already famous. However, never stopped loving the American car and was an unquestionable part of her culture.
Rest in peace Aretha Franklin, defender of civil rights, lover of African-American music and legendary cars.
