La muestra de Lescay es acogida por el Memorial José Martí, en la Plaza de la Revolución.

Counterpointing: I cannot find a better term to describe the dialogue that is established these days between Viaje perpetuo, the personal exhibition of the well-known plastic artist Alberto Lescay, with the symbolic heritage that the “José Martí Memorial” treasures.
This counterpointing between the epic figuration and the expressionist abstractionism emerged in Lescay as a result of his background as a monument sculptor in the then USSR.
Viaje perpetuo is also the touch and the swap between the accumulated and the accidental. His discourse was born from the concomitance of an occasional trip to Baracoa where his mambí grandfather grew up, and the need to define his fifty years of professional life. This was what made Lescay make an amazing discovery: all his work has been a Viaje a la semilla (A Journey Back to one´s Roots): an eternal apprentice trying to paint and sculpt his grandfather.
