Nostalgia is a grief that produces the remoteness of the places or loved ones and the pain it causes memory and longing for a distant well. This is the title and concept that summarizes my proposal.
The work, which like sculpture stands on a podium or pedestal, represents with deference our national insignia, the Cuban flag, wrapping itself the incorporeal haughty figure and supersensible of a lady, of an expecting mother.
Nostalgia intervened the public space of the Alameda de Paula, collateral to the 12th Havana Biennial. Precisely because of its port connotation by that provision of shelter and grief of farewells, it was located in the cove of the bay.
As a prelude to an itinerant project, the piece is exihibited at the Cuban Art Factory (FAC) throughout the summer, by the mega exhibition concept defending the installation and public attraction.
The sculpture, three meters high and resting on a concrete structure, is made of fiberglass and resin, and with a Cuban flag that flew for more than sixty years, even used for the clandestine struggle in Cuba.
