Alejandro Azcuy Domínguez (Havana, August 1972)
A self-taught photographer, he has ventured into almost all photographic genres throughout twenty-three years of professional career. His work has been exhibited in fifteen personal exhibitions and more than twenty-five collective exhibitions in countries such as Cuba, the United States, Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Mexico and Portugal. He has received several awards, among which stand out: Premio Revista Arte Cubano (Arte Cubano magazine Award) in the Segundo Salón de Paisaje, 2015 (Second Landscape Salon,) organized by the Galería Acacia; Gran Premio del Salón de Arte Erótico, 2016 (Erotic Art Salon, Grand Prize); Honorable mention by Premio Casa de las Américas for photographic essay, 2019, organized by said institution and the Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales, CLACSO (Latin American Council of Social Sciences); and Honorable Mention of the Salón Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo, Visuarte 2009 (International Exhibition of Contemporary Art Visuarte, 2009). He is a member of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, UNEAC (Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba).
