Guadalajara
Its name comes from Arabic "al-Wad hidjara" (river that runs between stones) taking the name of the hometown of conquistador Nuno Beltran de Guzman of these lands. The city was founded four times because of fighting between Indians and Caxcan cocas besetting the conquerors in their settlements. The first was in Nochistlan in 1530, the following year in Tonalá and the third in 1539, in the hill where Mixtán killed Pedro de Alvarado. In 1542, February 14, occurs when the final settlement Beatriz Hernandez led to 64 European families to Valle de Atemajac, with the firm intention to resist. This courageous settlement occurred on the site where today is the Teatro Degollado. It is at this time when installing the first City Hall and the Emperor Charles V of Spain and I of Germany awarded him the title of city and gave it a coat of arms representing Guadalajara until today.
Geographically located in the Valle de Atemajac in Nahuatl "place where water forks", west of Mexico, in Jalisco. Today Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico with many cultural sites, architectural and commercial.
The historic center may be the best starting point, since the focus much of the monuments and squares and is a delight go on foot. Other places are very interesting Market Liberty Plaza Tapatía and the zoo, the largest in Latin America.
Certainly in our visit to Guadalajara a party that fills us with happiness, is gastronomy Jalisco whose roots come from the colonial era with many dishes result of crossbreeding.
