Sports Sports are one of the core activities thanks to the privileged nature of the area. Perhaps favorites are the aquatic: diving in places like Marietas Islands, Caletas or Los Arcos, where you can also practise snorkeling, surfing and windsurfing in heavenly beaches along the Bay, especially in areas of Sayulita and San Pancho in Nayarit and high seas fishing and sports, with an international tournament which is celebrating its 50 anniversary this year. Other options are kayaking, catamarans, sailboats or yachts, water skiing, parasailing and banana rides. Lovers of adventure tourism will not get disappointed: biking, horseback or four by four, hiking, climbing, and for the more daring bungee or canopy in three different places to practice.

Ecotourism Ecotourism is a concept that was born with the aim of uniting tourism activities with care and respect for the environment. Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta in particular, is a natural paradise in which we can learn and enjoy observing wildlife in places like Marietas Islands, proposed to be named Nature Reserve at the national level. From December to March we can enjoy the sighting of humpback whales with their tender piruetas. They are also charming bottle nose dolphins and mottled. In summer is the National Program for Protection of Marine Turtles. The sighting of birds is very defendant with tours to see shorebirds and mountain. In addition, you can practise activities such as hiking or biking or horseback, to enjoy the jungle and mountains.

Festivals The month of November is the festivals in Puerto Vallarta. The oldest is the Gourmet Festival which has already held its tenth edition, with national and international recognition. It involves the most prestigious hotels and restaurants with chef invited to offer their most delicious recipes. For more than ten days you can choose among different tables chef, or attend cooking classes and tastings of different products. Film Festival began in 2004 with a good movie programming, attended by famous actors, directors, producers and the daughters of John Huston to deliver the John Huston Maverick Award, which rodeo Festival glamour and nostalgia .
