As almost endless are the options this travel destination has to offer in broad daylight, the night in indeed a horse of another color because Puerto Vallarta has a bohemian soul of its own, a city that never sleeps and puts on its best bib and tucker to cast a spell on those who venture out in the middle of the night. All you need to do is be careful because you set your own limits. A night may kick off with a sunset gazing. The beauty of the place grows a million times with a blend of colors.

The skyline gets a square shape. As the night closes in, time for fun heats up with each passing minute and there are places galore to either dine or have a nice light drink. Later on, only exhaustion  and the desire to feel new emotions lead us into the streets. It’s possible to have a drink in quiet places with superb views of the bay, right in the downtown area or farther to the outskirts. Music never stops: rock, salsa, disco, mariachi for those who prefer the most traditional side of Mexico. Either way, music will always enliven our souls and will invite us to keep tripping the light fantastic.

There are disco clubs to dance the night away –if we still happen to have some extra moxie left- because some of these establishments only close at 6:00 or 9:00 in the morning. In Puerto Vallarta, the movie title Open Until Daybreak is a dream come true.
