A group of Cubans arrived in Cordoba, hoping to take with them to the Andalusian capital a piece of their homeland –a singular fusion of tastes and scents from Cuba and the local cuisine. All this and a whole lot more was “Cordoba con Sabor a Cuba” (Cuba-Flavored Cordoba), an event sponsored by the Tourism Trusteeship, the city hall and the Cordoba Council, the Cuban embassy and many other institutions that chipped in to make it a big success.

“Ties between Cuba and Spain are strengthened not only by the culture and history they share, but also by the bonds between our cuisines; and these sessions bear this out by bringing peoples closer together beyond diplomatic formalities,” Cuban ambassador to Spain, Eugenio Martinez Enriquez, told Excelencias Gourmet, during the event’s grand opening held in Cordoba within the framework of the celebrations for the Iberian-American Capital of Gastronomic Culture.
