SANTIAGO HERMES

He graduated in engraving and drawing at the National Art School in Havana in 1990. Professor of Engraving, Drawing and Painting. He has done 58 personal exhibitions, 142 performances and 60 collective exhibitions. Among these presentations, the most representative are“Top Hat” traveling personal exhibit dedicated to the 49 victims of the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. Florida, USA, 2017; “All together” Action Paint in Riverview High School, Sarasota, USA 2017; “Bembé” personal exhibition, General Sarmiento National University, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2016;“Bembé”personal exhibition, Desert Museum, Coahuila, Mexico 2016;“Millennium”personal exhibition, Bucaramanga, Colombia 015;“Art I am” performance , West Indies University Bridgetown, Barbados 2015;“Bembé” personal exhibition and “Procession”performance in the XII International Visual Arts Biennial of Havana, National Theater of Cuba, Havana 2015;“La Ganga”performance in the XVII Social Anthropology and Afro-American Cultural Scientific Workshop 2013. He has taught several lectures and workshops in Cuba and abroad. He is a member of the Visual Arts Board, the Cuban Committee “The slave route: resistance, freedom and heritage”, the Provincial Group of the Psychologists Cuban Society, Cuban Educator Association. He is a founder and leader of the sociocultural community project “Trazos Libres”.
