"This story was my grandmother's fairy tale until 1998, when I was able to visit Galicia and make my dream come true, because even though I lived in Cuba and received training at Edison College, where I had teachers such as Roberto Fernández Retamar, who became a great personality of Cuban culture, I always wanted to know my European roots. And so it was; today I enjoy my Galician family as well as the Cuban family, and this year the Santiago de Compostela Television dedicated a program to me for my 65 years of artistic life, which brought about another reunion with my relatives. These two countries live in my heart and, in the words of my mother, no one can touch them.

"Since I was able to speak, I said that I wanted to be an actress. Maybe it was Aurora ha recibido la Distinción por la Cultura Nacional y el reconocimiento Don Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra por una vida dedicada al arte escénico and provoke unusual feelings in the public.

By using mathematical techniques such as the frequency index, I was able to measure
the repetition of peculiar gestures or the body attitude of a character, and by resorting to
psychology I was able to decipher inexplicable behaviors of the human being and recreate it.

"There are no good or bad performances. For me everything depends on the recipient; I like to suggest and the public puts the rest. There are actors who adapt the character to his
personality and prove to be convincing; there are others who have the soul of a chameleon,
as is my case, and unfold themselves, both physically and psychologically."

Aurora belongs to the catalog of Actuar, Artistic Agency of the Performing Arts of Cuba,
who has bestowed the Premio por la obra de la vida (Award for a lifetime work) on her.
