Granada takes another step in its candidacy for “European Capital of Culture 2031”, and announces the creation of the 1922 Milnoff Flamenco Festival, which will bring together a complete offer of “cante”, dance, guitar, photography and painting on the most emblematic stages of the city during June 2-7.

 Milnoff's official presentation was at “Casa América” in Madrid, as part of the region's promotion program at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur).  At the gala, the mayor of Granada, Luis Salvador, said: «A festival of this magnitude will definitely position the city in the international flamenco universe that it belongs to on its own right. It will entail an economic impact, and will be a first-order asset for the candidacy as “Capital of Culture”.

 Milnoff 1922 is inspired by the first “Cante Jondo” Contest, organized in 1922 by intellectuals such as Manuel de Falla and Federico García Lorca, in the “Patio de los Aljibes de La Alhambra”, with the idea of «intellectualizing flamenco and popularizing it by spreading  its multiple expressions in all social strata ».
