The Cuban culture and tourism industry needed an event such as the Jazz & Son Josone Festival, which shall take place this summer in Varadero resort, in the Matanzas peninsula of Hicacos.

Conceived as an interactive event, it has among its main organizers the Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (Egrem) (Recording and Musical Editions Company.)

The possibility that the event becomes a showcase for Cuban and international music opens the doors, once and for all, to the European summer festival tourism, which has become important for Cuban music. The event may become a must-go event for many high-profile international figures.

With an eye on the future and committed to music as the driving force of Cuban culture, Josone Park and the city of Varadero close ranks so that next July the best Cuban and international music will sound again, without distinction of genres and/or academic definitions. After all, a summer without music is not summer in Cuba.
