This golf tournament saw the light of day back in 2002 at the Vista Vallarta-Nicklaus course –home of the 2002 EMC World Golf Cup held in December of that same year.Those first two editions made quite a big splash and this time around participants will count on two courses: the Jack Nicklaus-Puerto Vallarta and El Tigre in Nuevo Vallarta.

The tournament opens its arms to amateur golfers, ladies and gentlemen, locals and foreigners alike that can put their own handicaps to the test. This is a PRO-AMATEUR TOURNAMENT (featuring one pro player and three beginners).The playing layout is gross score plus net score.Amateur golfers play with 80 percent of their handicaps.Pro players, for their part, also sign up for a round robin under a 36-hole medal play format. The cost is 5,500 pesos for amateur players and free of charge for pro golfers.

Winners will grab the Swing Vallarta Trophy,designed by local sculptor Octavio Gonzalez, plus cash prizes and other gifts doled out by the tournament’s sponsors. The event’s grand opening will take place at 7:30 pm on November 10 at the Shangri-La Resort,while the closing ceremony will be held at the Velas Vallarta Hotel on November 12.
