Mexico Gourmet Festival
History
One of those magic nights that only come to pass in Puerto Vallarta, Thierry Blouet from Café des artistes, Heinz Reize from Hotel Krystal and Sylvan Muller from Nestlé made up their mind to come up with a festival for the promotion of restaurants, gastronomic excellence and, to that same extent, of the destination itself. The month of choice was November because it’s still in the off-peak season, and half a dozen restaurants and hotels started things out.
Essence
The Festival clings to the same essence that brought it into life 14 years ago. Each and every participating restaurant, together with its local chef, become the hosts of a guest chef from anywhere under the sun. Chefs from Dubai, Spain or Vietnam, just to name but a few instances, have honored the festival with their attendance. The goal is to let chefs coexist and the end result be a learning process that could enrich both the destination and all those who come as visitors.
2008 Edition
This time around in 2008, the Festival will unfold from Nov. 13 thru 23 with two dozen attendants and more events than never before. Gala Dinner, gourmet brunch, cooking demonstrations, the coffee art, the match between wine and chocolate, tapas & tequila splash, gourmet theater and cheeses from the world make up an array of activities for those who love good food and drinking. Something too hard to fi nd in any other event.
