The artist Alberto Lescay along with his son Alejandro Lescay has inaugurated, in the Center for Cuban Studies of New York, a transcendent exhibition. This exhibition bears this title, as an indissoluble part of the Somos project, which we have been accompanying since edition number 20 of Arte por Excelencia: the Cuban culture impossible to block, the search for new ways and its relationship with the news that come and go between Cuba and the United States of America, including the reestablishment of direct flights.
Our presence at Art Basel Miami is, along with the recently stand at ArtBo, in Colombia, the gradual restoration of foundational dreams for this magazine, when a group of re-known celebrities thought how to promote to the art and culture from the beautiful Island.  Those very same art and culture that others despised were the shield and the sword on the worst of all economic crises, and the opportunity for the birth of the Grupo por Excelencias.
Since then, thousands of printed pages, thousands of readers on the web, and an avalanche on the Internet, speak of this beautiful endeavor: to hold an Art project ... for more than six years. And already 31 issues, when other cultural magazines break, is the best proof of our commitment to Cuba, and the best of Latin America and Europe, what we call Ibero-America, and still has much to say.
Arte por Excelencias closes this cycle of support, being media partners of important European fairs like Estampa Madrid, Swab Barcelona and Art Marbella, in the peninsula; and in London with Crossroads Art Show. In addition, we continue to accompany transcendent events in the Island as the XI International Festival of Poor Cinema in Gibara, Holguín; the 32th Festival Jazz Plaza, and Ethis 38th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana.
Twenty years will have passed this 2017 since the joint work of our teams in Madrid and Havana started. Two decades since Excelencias came to the world in the Caribbean Festival from the unconquerable Santiago de Cuba, and the first magazine went from hand to hand talking of charm and the creativity of Cubans, the strength of its aura, because here we also apprehended with Jose Marti, Cuban National Hero, why Patria is Humanity.
