Manuela Romeralo. “Pleasure Doesn’t Follow Genre Patterns”
Speaking of Spain-born Manuel Romeralo is speaking of a legend in the realm of sommeliers. It’s good enough just to mention a handful of her major awards to bear out that her name has long been a mandatory reference in international gastronomy. That’s why it was such a great honor to sit down with the current director and head sommelier of Vuelve Carolina, a restaurant owned by Chef Quique Dacosta (three Michelin stars), a woman with a college degree in Industrial Psychology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, recipient of the International Gastronomy Award to the 2010 Best Sommelier, winner of the 2006 Habanosommelier Contest and the first woman ever to win the Excelencias Award during the recently-concluded International Tourism Fair (FITUR).
