Five master cooks and a pastry maker let us in on the extraordinary cuisine of Valladolid

In addition to a well-gained reputation for its world-class wines Valladolid also wants to try its hand at beer, asparagus and vegetables. Farmers, cheese makers and brewers work to achieve excellence and get a piece of such an exclusive market as the gourmet realm.

Today, the province of Valladolid has five breweries that produce beer using traditional methods, each one with a character of its own. All are gourmet products fit for anybody. Among those factories, some standouts are Casasola, Milana, Las Llaves de San Pedro, La Loca Juana and Lüge.

But there are also tastes, textures and dishes made by five master cooks who let us in on the extraordinary cuisine of Valladolid. Fatima Perez de Andres (Fatima Restaurant), Victor Martin (Trigo), Miguel Angel Fargallo (La Raiz), Miguel Angel de la Cruz (La Botica), Jesus Sanabria (Campo Grande) and pastry maker Julian Arranz (El Chocolatero) dish out exquisite plates for us.

To top it all off, Ruben has come up with a line of sheep milk cheese, featuring the Granja Cantagrulla brand that has consistently hit the gourmet stores.

Valladolid is indeed the “land of flavor”, but it’s also home to culture and adventure.
