PARTAGÁS CORONAS GORDAS AÑEJADOS AND HOYO DE MONTERREY HERMOSOS Nº 4 AÑEJADOS ARE HABANOS THAT JOIN THIS NEW CONCEPT, AGED IN CUBA FOR AT LEAST A FIVE-YEAR PERIOD

People who know best –not exactly those who have lived longer- say that years add experience, sense, character, elegance, distinctive poise and even a touch of mysticism. It’s something inescapable we all long for. It happens with just about everything in life, yet it gets extraordinary shades when it comes to a good drink and a good cigar.
That’s why Habanos, S.A. launched the new concept of Añejados (Aged) successfully in late 2004, and is now coming back in 2016 with the same formula for two of its most emblematic brands, thus creating just another couple of delicacies to puff on: Partagás Coronas Gordas Añejados and Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos Nº 4 Añejados.
In both cases, these are two new references –unseen in the standard portfolio- that hit the market as a Special Edition in limited quantities and in a one-and-only launch.
Once again, the habano is making qualities and values flourish by going through this gourmet-like and avant-garde process that makes people awe and fall in love from the very first puff, as it puts out products that have been aged for five to eight years.
This condition goes far beyond the mere aging of tobacco leaves, since it entirely depends on the habano’s preservation period –in perfect temperature and humidity conditions- from the moment the cigar was rolled in the factory to the moment is finally smoked.
The time elapsed from the moment it was put in the box chips in a more refined taste and a more sophisticated scent, without making the habano let go of its initial organoleptic features.
Thus, Partagás Coronas Gordas Añejados (ring gauge 46 x 143 mm long) and Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos Nº 4 Añejados (ring gauge 48 x 127 mm long) will hit the market ready to please the most demanding cigar smokers and showing one more time Habanos S.A.’s ability to amaze customers and reinvent itself.
These aged products are sold in their own original boxes that have remained unbranded during the whole aging process, but are now spruced up with the brands’ corresponding bands as they are lined up to be in the sale outlets.
The launch of these two products will be made in their traditional branded boxes, with a band and an outer sticker that reads “Añejados” (Aged), plus an inner jacket that explains away the whole concept.
Thanks to the aging process, the habanos have evolved into rounder and better-tasting habanos that guarantee delicate and sweet notes. But above all, they get woody notes owed to the years they remained untouched inside their original cedar boxes.
The bottom of the box displays the date the habanos were originally rolled, coupled with an additional stamp that reads “Revisado” (Revised), since all of the boxes have been opened and each and every habano has been individually checked.
Partagás Coronas Gordas Añejados and Hoyo de Monterrey Hermosos Nº 4 Añejados will be available in sale outlets around the world during the first quarter of 2016.
