Montecristo Churchills and  Romeo y Julieta Pirámides

The “aged” concept gets its big break with a couple of new launches: Romeo y Julieta Pirámides Añejados and Montecristo Churchills Añejados. Both are, besides, brand-new vitolas in their respective brands

A  new concept is quickly catching on among seasoned habano smokers, a trendsetter that is definitely here to stay: the aged habanos.
It’s all about hand-rolled habanos that have endured an aging process in Cuba for five or more years, remaining in perfect conditions that have let them grab further shades and complexity without losing their original organoleptic characteristics.
For this 17th Habano Festival, Habanos S.A. is presenting for the first time two new launches of aged habanos: Romeo y Julieta Piramides Añejados (ring gauge 52 x 156 mm long) and Montecristo Churchills Añejados (ring gauge 47 x 178 mm long).
The two are new benchmarks in this niche and come down as a Special Edition in limited quantities and a unique launch through an aging process that stretched out for approximately five to eight years.
Through this aging process, the cigar has evolved greatly, with fuller body and better taste, thus capturing delicate and sweetish notes. Above all, it features a woody taste thanks to those years dormant lying inside the cedar barrels that keep them safe.
The launch of the Romeo y Julieta Piramides Añejados and the Montecristo Churchills Añejados is twice as much original due to the aging process itself and the addition of formats unseen in the two brands’ regular portfolios.
Aged habanos are sold in their original cases –unbranded during the course of the entire aging process- and eventually vested with the corresponding seals of each and every brand before hitting the market. They come in the common branded box, with double bands, outer stickers that read “Aged” and a small label that explains the concept away. The date when the habano was hand-rolled is carved in the bottom of the box. Furthermore, an additional seal with the word “Revised” is stamped as a proof that all the boxes have been opened and each and every habano thoroughly checked.
Romeo y Julieta Pirámides Añejados and Montecristo Churchills Añejados will be available in all sale outlets around the world beginning in the first quarter of 2015.

It’s all about habanos that have been aged in Cuba, in perfect conditions, for at least five years.
