Enrique Vargas Flores, coordinador del Espacio Cultural Iberoamericano de la Secretaría General Iberoamericana

It is not the first time he has come to Cuba. His many obligations and responsibilities, first at the Ministry of Culture of his native Mexico, and now in the performance of his duties as the coordinator of the Iberian-American Cultural Space of the Iberian-American General Secretariat, based in Madrid, have allowed him to travel frequently to the Island.

As a good Mexican, he enjoys a relaxed conversation, without formality or exclusivity, a true hand in hand that thaws any cold convention and gives way to a dialogue between friends.

Eduardo Vargas Flores came to the Iberian-American General Secretariat in 2007, by the hand of Uruguayan Enrique Iglesias, once president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), executive secretary of ECLAC and first Iberian-American general secretary in 2005, and also by the hand of Colombian Ramiro Osorio, who invited him to join the Culture team of the Iberian-American General Secretariat. In those years, Enrique worked at the Ministry of Culture of Mexico. When he arrived in Madrid, then Secretary General Rebeca Greesnspan invited him to preside over cultural efforts.
