Between the end of July and the beginning of August, half of Spain citizens hang the "Closed for holidays" sign. With temperatures that often exceed forty degrees Celsius, life in the inland cities comes to a halt and everyone, who can, migrates to the coast. At this time, the population on the Mediterranean coast triples or quadruples, and Spaniards, Germans, Russians or Britons dispute every inch of beach available in Benidorm or Marbella.

Obviously, the art circuit is also paralyzed. Nobody goes out to buy paintings or sculptures in summer, so the galleries close and 0artists and dealers, human beings after all, also go to the beach. Hence, someone had the idea of creating an art fair in the middle of July and based in Marbella, the capital of the Costa del Sol.

Five years later, Art Marbella continues to consolidate itself as the only modern and contemporary art fair of the summer period: with summer hours (from July 30 to August 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and designed for summer customers who come from all over the world to enjoy this Spanish beach and, who knows, in passing, buy some piece to fill their boats, chalets, palaces or museums.
