ACCORDING TO THE WORLD AND PAN-AMERICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS ALL TRAVELERS ARE TO KEEP IN MIND A SERIES OF HYGIENIC-EPIDEMIOLOGICAL AND HEALTH CARE MEASURES, SUCH AS THE LIST OF VACCINES PER COUNTRY

The number of tourists traveling to exotic and tropical countries has climbed to a new high over the past years, as a result of the increase of more attractive and cheaper tourism offers promoted by travel agencies. According to the World Travel Organization, over 12.5 million Spanish tourists annually fly to Central America, South America, Asia and the Caribbean.
Considering this scenario, experts are warning of the reemergence of such tropical infectious diseases as dengue, cholera, malaria and certain types of dermatitis, when hygienic-epidemiological and Public Health measures are not taken into account; as well as the List of Vaccines required to travel to each country, according to the World and Pan-American Health Organizations.
We must be aware of the fact that in foreign geographies we get in touch with a series of environmental factors that could affect us. The list includes: swimming in seas and rivers, heat or cold, bites of insects, rodents or any other animal, altitude, humidity, solar radiation and accidents.
There are measures to be kept in mind: use of proper footwear and pants, not to seat on the sand, ground or walk barefoot. Internationally established control rules are also to be fulfilled: checkups and watchfulness if symptoms are detected (fever, vomits, diarrhea, headache, cough, and skin rash, among others).
Spreading these details is a must, both among tourists and health care professionals, since this is the only way to provide all-embracing and proper assistance and avoid unnecessary ailments.
