Right on the corner of 36th Street and 1st Avenue in Varadero, the Cuban-food Esquina Cuba Restaurant doubles as a living museum where patrons turn back time to the 1950's on the island nation.

A “brand-new” 50's-vintage Buick –remarkably well preserved- welcomes visitors. A few steps away stand an old-timed bike, the classical jukebox still blaring out fresh beats, and the picture-perfect shoeshine stool. Music is also present in the historic pictures of some of its most legit performers: Bola de Nieve, Rita Montaner, Los Zafiros, Benny More, Joseito Fernandez –author of world-known Guantanamera- and Compay Segundo –the living bridge spanning the best of both times and writer of the Chan Chan- make up a one-and-only gallery. Photos of other beautiful people from the arts and politics, builders of Varadero's original housing, old cars and lots of other allegoric motifs from the first half of the 20th century, complement the ambiance.

Restaurant Services

The culinary delights offered at Esquina Cuba Restaurants are highlighted with dishes from the traditional cuisine –cooked up by Cuban families- whose secret recipes have lived out for over 50 years. As part of the facility itself, the Guantanamera Café offers a variety of infusions made with Cuba's top-brand coffee, plus local and international cocktails.

The original wooden construction, the ambiance and the exceptional flavor of the food single out the Esquina Cuba Restaurant: a place where the charm of long gone times is recreated.
