Mr. Abe Moore, vice president of operations for Cuba and the Dominican Republic, gives Caribbean Tourist Excellencies an all-out view of SuperClubs' positioning in these two Caribbean nations. In this respect, he says: “As we speak, we've got fours hotels in Cuba –two in Varadero, one in Havana and the other one in Holguin- that add up to 1,532 rooms in all. We're also working on a couple of other projects: the Breeze Cayo Coco, scheduled to open later this year, and the Grand Lido Varadero Resort & Spa that will open on July, 2004.”

“We recently added two more hotels in the Dominican Republic: the four-star beachfront Breeze Punta Cana with 774 rooms, and the 471-room Breezes Puerto Plata, named after that gorgeous Dominican location.”

A particular element that has contributed to the success of SuperClubs is the company's marketing strategy. In this sense, Mr. Moore goes on to say: “Counting on a resilient and functional marketing policy in place, knocked together on the basis of wise moves around our top markets, SuperClubs is keen to strike a more favorable balance between high-peak and off-peak seasons. This could clinch better operational volumes for the resorts we're running right now. Differentiation and quality levels way above the country's average standards are no doubt the name of the game for our company.”

On the other hand, Ulrich Mockenhaupt, head of SuperClubs' Development Policy Division in Cuba, weighed in with an interesting assessment of the two new hotels under construction right now. This is Mr. Mockenhaupt in his own words: “With a view to show off the group's excellencies to the world, we're building the Grand Lido Varadero with 434 deluxe rooms and specially outfitted in keeping with the facility's standards.”

The resort's ten restaurants will offer guests the chance of tasting the finest Oriental, Italian, Japanese, French, Cuban and international cuisine money can buy, let alone a well-assorted smorgasbord. Nine bars will serve the most exquisite local, Caribbean and international cocktails.

Janitor services, a European-style spa featuring sophisticated massage techniques, saunas, whirlpool tubs, relaxing swimming pools and tennis courts, coupled with other amenities and services, will guarantee guests a very happy stay.

Breezes Cayo Coco –named after the island of Coco Key- is packed with natural attractions, plus 307 comfy and roomy accommodations.

Making the most of its trademark banner, the Breezes Cayo Coco will be waiting for guests with the most exquisite gourmet offers under the sun scattered in five restaurants (four of them a la carte and a smorgasbord) and six bars serving the finest drinks and cocktails. A one-and-only array of recreational choices, plus a variety of ground and nautical sports, will surely be the right complement for your vacations in one of the most breathtaking environments across the island of Cuba.

Mr. Moore wraps up this interview highlighting what he considers is SuperClubs' premiere goal: “Keep up a traditional Caribbean atmosphere and provide guests with a hundred percent of choices for them to make all of their vacation dreams come true right inside out resorts.”
