In making an objective balance of the successes achieved by Juan Luis as a composer, arranger, songwriter, as the leader of the 440 band and as a Christian and solidaristic man, we can conclude that we are before the presence of an outstanding artist and a human being of exceptional dimensions.
Juan Luis is considered one of the best Latin American composers today. From his creative capacity have emerged themes that, due to their literary and musical quality, are part of the anthology of the best Dominican Republic´s and world music.
Of his thirteen productions and more than twenty compilations, Juan Luis and 440 have sold more than thirty million records. He has won numerous awards, including eighteen Latin Grammys, two North American Grammys and two Latin Billboard Awards.
Juan Luis owes his musical background, from the academic point of view, to the famous Berkeley College of Music in Boston. There he spent two years studying music and it was the place where he found the bases of knowledge that would later lead him to create great innovations in Dominican music.
Juan Luis Guerra´s presentations have mobilized millions of people in more than 60 countries around the world and have been staged in the most important and demanding scenes of all the nations they have visited.
