- Hotel Bahía del Almirante
Once again, Gibara, a city located in the eastern province of Holguín, was decked out for the ceremony of inauguration of one of its recently restored heritage-value buildings: the Hotel «Bahía del Almirante», which will soon open its doors. It is the fourth hotel in the region belonging to the Iberostar Group hotel chain.
That same Gibara, the headquarters of the International Film Festival and declared a National Monument in 2003, is preparing today for a new growth in tourism projected for the province of Holguín: one of the main destinations of this industry in Cuba. This is why repair and restoration processes have been carried out with the aim of continuing the reclaim of architectural and heritage structures that show visitors, from everywhere, the majesty of the so-called Villa Blanca.
The Bahía del Almirante Hotel, favored by its location facing the bay in the urban context of the Historic Center, has summoned construction brigades, artisans, artists, designers and engineers for the proper treatment of the architectural, historical, environmental, symbolic and ancient values that must imply the intervention on an architectural expression of the first third of the 20th century.
