The «La cocina de ida y vuelta» Photo Contest, organized on the occasion of the IX International “Excelencias Gourmet” Seminar, came to an end in Villa Manuela, with the attendance of José Carlos de Santiago, president of the “Grupo Excelencias”; Alfonso Marín, general secretary of the Iberia-America Academy of Gastronomy;  and numerous delegates of the event.

 The jury, chaired by photographer Julio Larramendi and also composed of art critic José Ángel Téllez and yours truly, selected, from more than a hundred works from Spain, Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Italy and Cuba, three first prizes: Wayta, by Marcelo Iturriaga Silva (Bolivia); Casabe de monción, by Pedro Guzmán (Dominican Republic); and the series Platos especiales, by Juan Carlos Borjas (Cuba).

 The mentions were awarded to Suspiros de quinua, by Diane Hernández (Cuba); La conquista of the CPARt project (Yram Marrero, Yenelys I. Boada, and Miguel Ángel Valdivia, Cuba); El arte de moler y remoler frijoles, by Brisol García (Mexico); and the Color cubano series, by Rubén Aja (Cuba).
