A painter, draftsman, engraver, and writer, (his sign is Virgo), He was born under the protection of Obatalà (Afro-Cuban Santerìa deity) and Ogùn as an accompanying Saint. He graduated at the Faculty of Arts at the Universidad de Oriente. He is a permanent and consulting professor at the Anthropological Museum “Chemizal” in Mexico. He has been bestowed with numerous national and international awards and decorations. He was bestowed with the Distinción por la Cultura Cubana (Award for Cuban Culture.)
