CTO awards Caribbean Tourist Excellencies magazine in NYC
The Caribbean Tourist Excellencies (CTE) magazine grabbed the award to the Best Consumer Article in a Magazine, Newspaper or Online Publication in Europe for its feature report on Aruba.
Consuelo Elipe, CTE's managing editor and author of the feature report, and Jose Carlos de Santiago, editor-in-chief and CEO of the Tourist Excellencies editorial staff, picked up the award during the gala dinner held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City within the framework of the 2003 Caribbean Week.
This is the first time the CTO doles out these awards after having admitted over a hundred works which were judged on a case-by-case basis by a jury made up of professional journalists and experts from the leisure industry.
Long Island University professor Dorothy Raid, and Adelphi University professor Barbara Fischkin judged the works before reaching the final decision.
(Pie de foto) For a few days, the Caribbean flooded the bustling streets of New York City . Music, food and color were everywhere. We also attended meetings and gatherings in which the tourist industry broached an array of current red hot issues in an effort to find better ways to support this region.
